The impact of sex therapy can be transformative. Individuals and couples commonly feel after engaging in therapy is increased confidence and self-esteem because individuals overcome negative beliefs and regain confidence in their bodies and their sexuality.  Through the process of therapy, individuals have a better understanding of their own wants, needs and boundaries. They no longer feel shame or guilt for their sexual identity, sexual health diagnosis and/or chronic health condition. They also note improved communication as a couple because they feel more connected and able to communicate openly about sexual needs, desires, and concerns. After addressing sexual issues, many individuals and couples experience a revitalized sense of sexual desire and intimacy. The anxiety and stress that previously hindered sexual experiences dissipates, leading to more fulfilling encounters and stronger emotional intimacy. For those who have experienced sexual trauma, therapy can help in processing past experiences, allowing for healing and the opportunity to reclaim control over their sexual life.  Ultimately, therapy leads to stronger emotional and sexual bonds. Couples who work through their challenges in therapy often report feeling more connected and deeply in love, with a renewed sense of mutual respect and trust.
