Speech and Articulation Therapy
Some children know exactly what they want to say — but the sounds don’t always come out clearly. They might say “wabbit” instead of “rabbit,” struggle with an “r” or “s” sound, or feel self-conscious about how they speak.
Articulation therapy helps children learn to produce specific speech sounds correctly and clearly. Using playful, interactive techniques, our therapists teach children how to coordinate the precise movements of their tongue, lips, and jaw to make speech sounds accurately. Therapy might focus on just one or two tricky sounds, or it might involve retraining a broader pattern of speech errors. Either way, our goal is to help your child feel proud and confident when they speak — in the classroom, on the playground, and at home.
Appointments can be booked for 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions.
Articulation therapy focuses on teaching clients how to produce speech sounds correctly (e.g. correcting a lisp, or producing the ‘w’ sound instead of the ‘r’ sound). It involves the precise movements of the articulators (tongue, lips, jaw, palate) to form individual sounds that make up words and sentences. This therapy supports clients working on producing specific speech sounds accurately.
Appointments can be booked for 45 or 60 minute sessions.
Language development therapy can support clients, typically children, improve their communication skills. It focuses on addressing difficulties with both understanding and using language and the ability to express thoughts and ideas. Specific areas that can be targeted include vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, complex sentences formulation, sentence and direction comprehension, and story-telling and comprehension.
Language Therapy
Language is the foundation of learning, connection, and self-expression. Some children may understand what others are saying but struggle to respond or explain their thoughts. Others may have difficulty following directions, forming sentences, or using words to tell stories.
Language therapy helps children strengthen both receptive language (understanding what they hear or read) and expressive language (how they use words and sentences to communicate).
Our therapists work on:
* Building vocabulary and grammar
* Improving sentence structure and complex sentence formation
* Enhancing story-telling and comprehension skills
* Strengthening understanding of directions and questions
Each session is tailored to your child’s unique learning profile, interests, and goals. Through play-based and structured activities, we help your child become a more confident communicator who can express thoughts and ideas clearly across settings.
Literacy Therapy
Strong literacy skills open doors for learning — in every subject and stage of life. Yet, for some children, reading and writing don’t come easily. Literacy therapy can help bridge that gap. A comprehensive assessment allows us to identify your child’s strengths and areas of need in both language and literacy. From there, we create a personalized therapy plan that supports progress and growth over time. Our literacy therapy supports children who may struggle with reading, spelling, or understanding what they read. We focus on developing the building blocks of literacy, such as:
* Phonological awareness (recognizing sounds in words)
* Letter-sound correspondence
* Word decoding and encoding (spelling)
* Reading fluency and comprehension
* Written expression and organization of ideas
Using evidence-based literacy approaches, we make reading and writing engaging and achievable. As children gain these foundational skills, they often experience increased confidence, better academic performance, and a renewed sense of curiosity and enjoyment around learning.
Appointments can be booked for 45 or 60 minute sessions.
Literacy therapy focuses on improving a client’s reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Social communication therapy focuses on improving a client’s ability to effectively interact and communicate with others in social situations. It helps individuals understand and use verbal and nonverbal communication, identify and work on emotions, build relationships, and navigate social interactions successfully.
Social Communication Therapy
Social communication therapy helps children who find it challenging to connect with others, read social cues, or participate in back-and-forth interactions. These skills are essential for building friendships, understanding emotions, and communicating successfully in everyday life.
Our therapy focuses on helping children:
* Understand and express emotions appropriately
* Take turns in conversations and play
* Interpret nonverbal communication such as facial expressions, tone, and body language
* Use language appropriately in different social contexts
* Develop confidence in social interactions
By combining structured lessons with fun, real-world practice, we help children feel more comfortable communicating with peers and adults. Over time, they learn not just how to “fit in,” but how to connect and belong in meaningful ways.
